From the Atlantic ocean in Portugal to the Russian border.
Support me as I attempt to run over 3000 miles in under 56 days,

I am also raising money for CHICKS again (Country Holidays For Inner City Kids). It would be great if we could raise as much money as possible. To find out more about CHICKS or to make a pledge please visit them at www.chicks.org.uk

Welcome

Hi! A very warm welcome to these pages documenting my record attempt for running 4300 miles across Europe. Much will happen as we cross 9 countries, starting when I fill my water bottle in the warm Atlantic Ocean just North of Lisbon (Portugal) before hopefully emptying half the water bottle on the Russian border. I am sure it will be a great adventure. We hope you enjoy following the run. We will update as often as possible. All the wonderful messages of support got us through the run across America- we would love to hear from everyone one again!

Anyway, let me introduce the motley crew who have the daunting task of looking after me during the journey across Europe

LUKE FOX (23, from Bodmin, Cornwall)
Responsibilities: Driver, Website, Photography, Videoing, Liaising with the Media
Luke is a cracking lad who holds a degree in Marketing and PR. As a devoted Plymouth Argyle supporter he obviously has a great sense of humour, is really chilled out and cool under pressure. Good qualities for an adventure like this. After the run Luke plans to go travelling to Australia for a year.

CHRIS TROWBRIDGE (26, from Chippenham, Wiltshire)
Responsibilities: Driver, Route finding, buying all our supplies, maintaining the vehicle and all our other equipment.
Chris is my bro-in-law. A very committed Swindon Town fan (I won’t hold that against you Chris) he has a degree in Business Studies. Like Luke, Chris is extremely laid back, likes a joke and never gets in a flap. Welcome on board mate!

AMY BROWN (28, my wife!)
We have managed to negotiate with Amy’s employers to give her time off so that she can come for the whole journey. She will attempt to cycle the whole way as well as providing much needed morale support.

DAN FROST (28, from London)
Dan is my best mate and will cycle for the first month alongside Amy. A great lad.

My feet are the most important part of me (apart from my mind). Here I am cutting my toenails during the 2004 Race Across America.

Let’s hope the run across Europe is as successful as the Race Across America. Here I am at the finish in Central Park celebrating with my wife Amy, and my magnificent support of Rog, Jan, my wife Amy and sister Susan.

Why run across Europe?

…Why not? ‘In life we put up too many barriers. We are so afraid of failing we don’t try at all. Find courage or at least have a go. Chase your dreams and don’t let go of them.’
